What if I'm not satisfied with the work?

Your technician will keep a detailed log of the time spent working on your problem. If your technician is addressing multiple issues you will be given a breakdown of how much time was spent on each of the issues. You are only responsible for paying for those issues that are completed to your satisfaction.

Do you offer discounts for multiple jobs?

This option may be offered to small businesses that anticipate a need for a significant amount of work being done on an ongoing basis. Please contact us to discuss terms.

What happens if the work takes more time than was originally estimated?

In general, your technician will give you an estimate that represents a maximum amount. In most cases, therefore, your bill should be lower than estimated. If your technician underestimates by a moderate amount the time required to complete the work, you will receive the additional time for free. Bear in mind, that it is not possible to fully evaluate a system in the brief time alloted for providing an estimate. If a significant revision of the estimate is required due to new information uncovered during the course of the job (i.e. portions of your operating system are corrupt, or some of your equipment is defective), the technician will not proceed without your express approval. In that event, you will have the option to refuse the job. If you decide not to accept the revised estimate, your machine will be left in the same condition or better than it was in prior to the start of the service call. How much advance notice is needed for making an appointment?

Jobs are prioritized in terms of urgency. In the case of an emergency we can often offer same day service. In other cases you can expect an appointment to be available within 24-48 hours.

Are your rates negotiable?

With the exception of multiple jobs as discussed above, our rates are not negotiable.

Can pcjoe build me a custom made system?

What are the pros and cons of buying a custom machine?

The benefit of a custom machine is that all the parts are hand-selected to be the best and the most appropriate for your needs within a specified budget. In general, it is safe to say that a custom built machine will out-perform and outlast a comparable system that is mass-produced.

The downside to purchasing a custom built machine is that there is no single computer reseller responsible for honoring a warranty -- each of the parts is warrantied by its individual vendor. After discussing your needs with your pcjoe representative, you will be referred to third-parties for purchase of parts. Pcjoe will only charge for the labor involved in assembling and configuring your system. This means that you will have warranties on the parts, but not on the system as whole. Also, you can expect that a custom built machine will cost more than one that is mass-produced.

Does pcjoe offer any kind of training?

At this time training is not offered.
